Develop Practical Strategies To Meet Traffic Challenges – Akume To FRSC

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume has called on the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC to develop practical strategies that will improve operational effectiveness to meet current traffic challenges in the country.

Addressing the Second Corps Marshal’s Strategic Session with Zonal and Sector Commanding officers across the 36 states and FCT in Abuja, Senator Akume told the Corps to invest more in the capacity building of personnel and deploy technology in traffic enforcement and emergency response.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr Ibrahim Kana, the SGF commended the Corps for its valuable contributions towards strengthening the nation’s security.

According to Dr Kana, the recent collaboration with security agencies in recent times has helped to improve home security.

Senator George Akume reiterated the Federal Government’s continuous effort to enhance FRSC operations in tackling road acvidents on the nation’s highways.

The Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed said the strategic session provided another opportunity for the management staff and commanding officers to review its operations and chart a course in achieving the Corps’ goal for 2026.

Mallam Shehu Mohammed assured that the Corps would continue to strengthen its collaboration with relevant stakeholders for effective traffic administration.

The Theme of the session is “Strengthening Institutional Capacity For Enhanced Service Delivery in a Challenging Environment.”
