Edo: Man Arrested After Spending Four Days in House He Allegedly Broke Into
A man identified as Sunday has been apprehended after allegedly breaking into a house in Auchi, Edo State, and staying there for four days while the owner was away.
The incident came to light after the landlord reportedly discovered that the man had been living in the property without his knowledge.
Sunday allegedly gained entry into the house by breaking a window at the back of the building. Rather than simply taking items and leaving, he reportedly settled in and made use of the facilities, including cooking and bathing.
In a video circulating on social media, the landlord is seen confronting the suspect and asking how long he had been staying in the house.
“I’ve stayed for like four days,” Sunday replied.

The response appeared to leave the landlord stunned, prompting him to question how the man could have spent several days in the house, cooking, bathing and using the toilet without permission.
“Four days? You dey cook, dey baff, dey shit. Why you come break this back window?” the landlord asked.
Sunday admitted to breaking the window and explained that he wanted to create an escape route in case someone came to the house.

“It is so that in case anybody come, I will follow through that side,” he said.
The suspect was also accused of cooking beans and rice belonging to a tenant. The food had reportedly been in the house since the previous Friday.
The circumstances surrounding how Sunday managed to remain in the property for four days before being discovered were not immediately clear.
The video has attracted attention online because of the unusual circumstances of the alleged break-in, with the landlord’s questions revealing how the suspect reportedly made himself at home in the property.
Further details about the suspect’s apprehension and whether he has been handed over to the police were not immediately available.
