Baptist Girls Gather for Annual Camp in Gwagwalada, Charged on Spiritual Growth and Morality
Baptist Girls Auxiliary (GA) in churches under the Amazing Grace Baptist Association (AGBA) have converged on Emmanuel Baptist Church, Gwagwalada, Abuja, for their Annual Camp.
This year’s camp, themed “Glory in Godliness and Grace,” is aimed at reminding young girls in the Baptist family of the need to draw closer to God as they prepare for future responsibilities both physically and spiritually.
Delivering his message, the Camp Pastor, Dr. Adeyemi Adewuyi, admonished parents to always ensure proper upbringing of their girl child.
Speaking from Acts chapter 9, verses 39 to 41, Rev. Dr. Adeyemi Adewuyi also urged the Girls Auxiliary members to put into practice all they have learnt during the camp so as to become good Christians and secure a better future.
Expressing concern over the attitude of some Christian girls, the clergyman encouraged them to maintain good conduct wherever they find themselves.
Earlier, the Association’s GA Director, Mrs. Ruth Adegboyega, said AGBA would continue to organise programmes that would help Baptist girls become good ambassadors of their families.
She also advised participants to observe their quiet time regularly and obey God’s commandments in order to succeed in life.
Some of the Girls Auxiliary members, including Wuraola Ayoola, Esther Akinpelu, and Damiela Aremu, expressed satisfaction with this year’s camp.
They noted that the lessons learnt would help shape them into exemplary Christians worthy of emulation.
Highlights of the Annual Camp included Bible study sessions and lectures on personal hygiene, among other activities.
