ICDA Raises Alarm Over Identity Misuse, Disowns ‘Igala Centre for Development Advocacy’
The Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) wishes to inform the general public, stakeholders, and all well-meaning members of the Igala nation about the emergence and activities of a group operating under the name Igala Centre for Development Advocacy (ICDA).
The Association has observed that this group has deliberately adopted the acronym “ICDA,” which is widely known and historically associated with the Igala Cultural and Development Association.
Additionally, the group has been using Igala Unity House, Anyigba as its address. It is important to note that Igala Unity House has served as the National Secretariat of the ICDA since its inception, and the Association remains the rightful custodian of the facility.
These actions appear intended to create confusion, mislead the public, and possibly benefit from the established reputation and credibility of the Igala Cultural and Development Association.
The Association wishes to clearly state that it has no affiliation, connection, or relationship whatsoever with the said Igala Centre for Development Advocacy (ICDA). Any claims, statements, activities, or representations made by that group should not be linked to or associated with the Igala Cultural and Development Association.
The Igala Cultural and Development Association remains the leading socio-cultural organization committed to the unity, progress, and development of the Igala people. Over the years, it has built a strong reputation based on integrity, transparency, and dedicated service to the Kingdom. The Association will not allow this reputation to be compromised by any individual or group engaging in misleading activities.
Members of the public, government agencies, partners, traditional institutions, and the media are therefore urged to exercise due diligence and ensure that all engagements, communications, and collaborations intended for the Igala Cultural and Development Association are directed through its verified and official channels.
Furthermore, the Association is taking appropriate steps to address the situation and safeguard its identity, integrity, and legal standing.
The public is advised to disregard any unauthorized use of the ICDA acronym or any misleading representation by the said group.
The Association appreciates the continued trust, support, and cooperation of all stakeholders.
