Ogbomoso witnessed a significant boost in youth empowerment and entrepreneurial development as the Ogbomoso Tech & Entrepreneurship Ignite 2026 (OTEI 2026) successfully took place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at The Hall, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.

With the theme, “Vision to Value: Building a Structured, Bankable and Scalable Enterprise,” the conference attracted hundreds of participants, including students, startup founders, entrepreneurs, young professionals, creatives, SMEs, and industry players.
The event featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, networking opportunities, pitching sessions, and practical business development engagements.

OTEI 2026 was designed to bridge the gap between ideas and implementation by exposing participants to practical knowledge in entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, business development, legal compliance, taxation, funding opportunities, finance, and career advancement.
Delivering the opening keynote, Favour Afolabi, a Software Engineer at Eddozier Systems, spoke on “Technology and Innovation: How Local Ideas Are Shaping Global Possibilities.” He stressed the need for innovation, resilience, and proper business structure in building enterprises capable of thriving in the global digital economy.
According to Afolabi, businesses seeking global relevance must focus on three critical principles — Solve, Solve Well, and Scale. His presentation generated strong engagement and thoughtful discussions among participants.
The closing keynote was delivered by Osho Temitayo Michael, Founder of Creatorgigs Africa, who spoke extensively on SEO, digital visibility, and content marketing strategies for African businesses in 2026.
His session later transformed into a highly interactive experience where attendees were encouraged to apply practical visibility and branding techniques beyond theoretical learning.
“Most people consume knowledge but never apply it. Visibility doesn’t come from what you know, it comes from what you show,” Michael said during the session.
The keynote further reinforced the conference’s core message of converting ideas into measurable impact while highlighting the opportunities available through social media and digital platforms.
Speaking at the event, the Convener, Adedoye Godwin, MBA, described OTEI as more than just an annual conference, noting that the initiative represents a long-term movement focused on positioning Ogbomoso as a growing center for technology and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
“OTEI is beyond an event; it is a movement built to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit of Ogbomoso youths and equip them with the structure and confidence to build sustainable businesses. Our mission is to raise leaders, innovators, and job creators,” he stated.
The event featured experienced professionals and speakers who facilitated sessions on business growth, leadership, entrepreneurship strategies, digital innovation, career advancement, taxation, regulatory compliance, and access to funding.
Participants described the conference as impactful, well-organized, and enlightening, with many noting that it ranks among the most significant entrepreneurship-focused gatherings recently held in Ogbomoso. The event also generated strong online conversations, with calls for expansion into other cities.
The Organizing Committee expressed gratitude to sponsors, partners, volunteers, supporters, and participants whose efforts contributed to the success of the conference.
Following the successful outing, the Committee disclosed plans to transform OTEI into a structured non-governmental organization dedicated to youth empowerment, mentorship, entrepreneurship support, innovation programs, and sustainable community development across Ogbomoso.
Participants seeking event photographs, speaker materials, and certificates were encouraged to visit the official OTEI website.
