Residents Rescue Woman Allegedly Locked in Shop by Husband Over Disobedience

A disturbing video circulating on social media has captured the moment residents of a Nigerian community forced open a shop to rescue a woman who had allegedly been locked inside by her husband.

According to the individual who shared the video, the man had warned his wife not to leave the house. When she reportedly went against his instruction, he allegedly locked her inside a shop and threatened her with severe consequences if she attempted to leave. As a result, she remained confined until concerned neighbours noticed something was wrong.
The video shows a crowd gathered outside the shop. One man eventually steps forward and begins unlocking the door while others watch closely. Once the door is opened, the woman emerges from inside appearing visibly relieved, though shaken by the experience. Residents quickly move in to check on her, while others react with shock and anger over the incident.
The person recording the video repeatedly says, “Thank God we noticed on time. If not, hmmm…,” reflecting the fears of many who believed the situation could have become much worse had the woman remained locked inside for longer.
