Bwari in Shock: Headless Body Found in Abandoned Building
Residents of Bwari in the Federal Capital Territory were thrown into fear and shock on Saturday after the decomposing body of a middle-aged woman was discovered inside an abandoned, uncompleted building.
The disturbing discovery was made after a foul odour began emanating from the structure. Concerned residents investigated and found the woman’s headless body inside the building.
A resident who spoke anonymously to Weekend Trust said the victim’s body was tied up and already decomposing.
“She had no head. Just her body, tied up and rotting. The smell was unbearable. We couldn’t even tell who she was,” the resident said.
According to community members, the woman may have been killed about two days before her body was found. Ropes were reportedly tied around her wrists and ankles, while a blood-stained blanket discovered nearby suggested that the body may have been wrapped and transported to the location.
Another resident, Ibrahim Dogo, said there were visible signs of violence on the victim’s body and within the room.
“There were bruises on her hands and legs. She fought. You could see bloodstains on the floor and walls. Whatever happened in that room was brutal,” he said.
Residents were unable to identify the victim, as her head was missing, making recognition difficult.
The incident has heightened concerns about security in the area, with many residents expressing fears for their safety and that of their families.
Police officers from the Bwari Divisional Headquarters responded to the scene after receiving a distress call. The body was evacuated to Bwari General Hospital, while investigations commenced.
A police officer at the scene disclosed that detectives are working to establish the identity of the deceased and track down those responsible for the crime.
The incident has left many residents unsettled, raising fresh concerns about insecurity within the nation’s capital.
