Foluke Adeboye Reveals She Disposed of Gold Jewelry After Becoming Born Again

Foluke Adeboye, wife of Enoch Adeboye, has disclosed that she threw her gold jewelry into a lagoon after giving her life to Christ.

Sharing her experience during an interview, she explained that although she once had a passion for fashion, she abandoned it after joining the Redeemed Christian Church of God, where wearing earrings was discouraged at the time.
According to her, she got rid of all the jewelry, including pieces she had already prepared for her child, as they no longer aligned with her new faith.
“Every woman loves fashion. The moment we were born again then in RCCG, it was a taboo for you to have earrings. So everything, I dropped it in the lagoon,” she said.
She further recounted how a friend of her mother questioned her action, suggesting that she could have handed the items over to her mother to sell.
However, Foluke maintained that anything she considered unsuitable for herself would equally be unsuitable for her mother.
“Whatever is not good for me is not good for my mother,” she said.
She added that she has no regrets about the decision, saying, “I don’t miss anything, not much.”
