The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in an appeal filed by a factional National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over the party’s ongoing leadership dispute.

A five-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, announced on Wednesday that the date for delivering the judgment would be communicated to all parties involved.
The announcement followed the adoption of final written arguments by lawyers representing the different sides, who also urged the court to grant their respective reliefs.
The appeal, marked SC/CV/180/2026, challenges the March 12 ruling of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed the appellant’s case. The appellate court had upheld an earlier decision delivered on September 4, 2025, by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The Supreme Court’s pending decision is expected to determine the direction of the leadership tussle within the ADC.
