Police Probe Death of Kano Entrepreneur at Influencer’s Home

The Kano State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the mysterious death of a young businessman, Isma’il Makaye, who reportedly lost his life following an incident at the residence of popular TikTok personality and dancer, Fati Cele.


The incident, which occurred on Friday morning, has attracted widespread attention and sparked intense discussions across social media platforms.

According to reports from residents in the area, concerns were raised after a fire allegedly broke out at the residence. Neighbours who responded to the distress call reportedly found Makaye with burn injuries and other visible wounds before rushing him to Nassarawa Hospital for medical attention.
However, medical personnel later confirmed that he had died.
Police authorities confirmed that Fati Cele is currently in custody as investigators work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident. The spokesperson of the command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed that the TikTok star, who reportedly sustained burns on her hands, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that detectives are examining various pieces of evidence recovered from the scene as part of efforts to determine what transpired before the businessman’s death.
The incident has generated public concern, especially following reports that the deceased and the social media personality had previously experienced relationship difficulties before recently reconciling.
As investigations continue, residents and social media users have urged security agencies to ensure a thorough, transparent, and impartial probe into the circumstances surrounding Makaye’s death.
