The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, disclosed the incident in a statement issued by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the Fire Service received an emergency alert at about 11:13 a.m. through one of its personnel, Kabiru Tata, informing the agency that a man had fallen into a well.
“We received an emergency call from the Emergency Response Unit (Control Room) through one of our staff members, Kabiru Tata, at about 11:13 a.m. that a man had fallen into a well.
“We immediately dispatched our rescue team to the scene,” the statement said.
The statement explained that the victim had entered the well in an attempt to recover a handset that had fallen inside but was unable to make his way out.
