Remi Tinubu Empowers 2,000 Jigawa Women with N100m Grant

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has announced a N100 million business recapitalisation grant for 2,000 women petty traders in Jigawa State as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) across the country.

Mrs. Tinubu made the announcement on Monday at the palace of the Emir of Hadejia, Adamu Abubakar Maje, during the commencement of her one-day official visit to the state.

Under the initiative, each of the 2,000 beneficiaries will receive a N50,000 business recapitalisation grant to support and expand their businesses.
The First Lady reaffirmed her commitment to promoting small and medium-scale enterprises, describing the sector as a critical driver of sustainable economic growth, job creation and poverty reduction in Nigeria.
She noted that empowering women entrepreneurs, particularly those at the grassroots, remains essential to improving household incomes and stimulating local economic development.
As part of her visit to Jigawa State, Mrs. Tinubu is also expected to flag off the National Community Food Bank Programme for the North-West zone.
She will further inaugurate key projects executed by the state government, including the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy and the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic.
