The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Working Committee (NWC), and the Progressive Governors Forum for the successful conduct of the party’s National Convention in Abuja.

In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, Omale expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support throughout the national exercise. He also extended gratitude to the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, alongside other progressive governors, for their efforts in ensuring a peaceful convention.
Omale praised the organizers of the convention and congratulated the party’s National Working Committee led by Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, noting that their return would further strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said: “I extend my deepest appreciation to each and every one of you for your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment that led to the resounding success of our National Convention held in Abuja.
“Your presence, active participation, and collective spirit of unity have once again demonstrated the strength, discipline, and maturity of our party. From the leadership to the grassroots, you all played vital roles in ensuring a peaceful, well-organized, and impactful convention.
“This success is not just an event achieved, but a strong statement of our shared vision, solidarity, and readiness to move forward with renewed purpose. Your sacrifices, coordination, and cooperation have set a solid foundation for the tasks ahead.
“As we return to our respective states and constituencies, let us carry forward the momentum, strengthen our structures, and continue to work together in unity for the progress of our party and the development of our nation.
“Thank you for your tireless efforts, your loyalty, and your belief in our collective mission. God bless you all.”
Chief Omale further expressed confidence that the ruling party would sustain its strength and secure victories at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
He added that both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia have performed commendably and deserve a second term in office as President and Governor, respectively.
The state chairman also urged members, leaders, and stakeholders of the ruling party across the federation not to relent in their efforts to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and other performing progressive governors in the next general elections.
It will be recalled that the Benue State chapter of the APC on Friday participated in the party’s National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja, where its State Chairman, Chief Benjamin Omale, was formally adopted and ratified.
Dr. Omale led a high-powered delegation comprising state executives, delegates, and key stakeholders to attend the party’s 4th National Convention, which attracted party leaders from across the federation. The event featured the dissolution, constitution, and inauguration of newly elected National Working Committee members, with Professor Nentawe Yilwatda emerging as the party’s National Chairman.
According to Omale, one of the major outcomes of the convention was the adoption and ratification of party leadership at all levels, including ward, local government, state, and zonal structures nationwide. This followed a motion moved by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who affirmed that the congresses were conducted in substantial compliance with the Electoral Act and the party’s guidelines, thereby strengthening the APC’s grassroots structure.
The motion was seconded by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and received overwhelming support from delegates.
