Pastor David Ibiyeomie Trends After Warning Worshippers Against Water, Gum, Phones In Church
Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has stirred reactions on social media after issuing strict guidelines on how members should behave during church services.
In a video currently making rounds on X, formerly known as Twitter, the cleric addressed his congregation and cautioned against what he described as inappropriate behaviour inside the church auditorium.
According to him, worshippers should refrain from chewing gum, drinking water, or using mobile phones during service, noting that such acts do not show proper reverence in the house of God.
“Don’t chew gum when you’re in church, you’re not a goat. Don’t drink water in church. If you want to drink water, go outside. Don’t use phone at all in church,” he said in the viral clip. “This is not a Pentecostal church, only Pentecostal churches allow water inside church.”
Pastor Ibiyeomie further stressed that the church remains a sacred place that must be treated with seriousness and respect, adding that some habits people display during worship are inappropriate.
The video has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some people supporting his call for discipline and order during worship, while others criticised the tone and choice of words used in delivering the message.
