A man has allegedly robbed a sex worker of her belongings after luring her to a hotel in Makurdi, Benue State.

The incident was shared in a Facebook post by a lecturer, Comrade Abeen Mph, who disclosed that the suspect fled with the woman’s phone, handbag, footwear, and about ₦18,000 she reportedly earned that day.
According to the account, the man picked up the woman late at night and took her to the hotel. Upon arrival, he reportedly told the hotel manager that he was experiencing issues with his banking app and could not make payment immediately.
Out of sympathy, the woman allegedly paid ₦5,000 for the room on his behalf, with the understanding that he would refund her later.
By morning, however, the situation had changed. The suspect was said to have quietly left the room while the woman was still asleep, taking along her belongings, including her money and phone. He reportedly wore her Crocs and left behind an old pair of bathroom slippers.
In another twist, the man allegedly collected the hotel manager’s phone under the pretext of making a call, but fled shortly after. He reportedly escaped on a motorcycle before anyone could stop him.
The lecturer, who witnessed the aftermath, said he came out after hearing a commotion and found the woman sitting outside the hotel barefoot and visibly distressed.
The victim reportedly lamented losing everything she had earned the previous day, as well as the embarrassment of the situation. She was said to have sought help from a motorcycle rider to leave the area.
As of the time of this report, the suspect had not been identified or arrested, and there has been no official statement from the police.
